Final Project Idea

For my final project about my argument essay, I have decided that I will do a magazine ad or a brochure for my argument. There is a lot information about my topic and I would have to put a lot in to get my point across to people. Like seen in magazines, some ads have both an ad and an a brochure to further convey their argument, which I think is a very good idea.
Furthermore, the ideas that I was given about my final project was giving my argument on four squares to tell all sides and using big bold letters and colors that would attract which either side that people are on about this issue.
Finally, for my ad, one of my ideas is to do bold colors that would capture all my audiences attention about the way I feel about the topic and see how and get my point across. Another idea that I have is showing quotes of TCU students who have been complaining about 24 hour visitation, whether wanting it to change or not, surrounded around a school with rules of their visitation rules and regulations that are stricter than TCU's. I think that this idea would also show students, whichever side that they are on, that TCU always put the students feelings first and have done a lot to make them happy on campus. I believe that this will be a very effective idea because I telling all sides of what people debate about in this topic and then I am also getting my point across as well.

Argument Topic

My topic for the essay four will be about 24 hour visitation in the women's dorms at TCU. This debate from what I have observed has gotten very heated in the past couple of months and it is issue that really needs to be solved. When I write my essay, I will argue why it is good to have 24 hour visitation in the women's dorms and why it is not because frankly both sides give a compelling story. I plan getting my information for my essay through meetings held, surveys, RA's, students and Hall directors here at TCU and also give background information about the whole situation. I hope that you will enjoy my essaytopic because I believe that this a good argument to write about to see why students at TCU are on different sides and finally get the chance to back up what they believe in.

March 5 Prompt

For my enthnographic paper, the topic that I am thinking about writing is about the our dance team, the TCU Showgirls. I really love dance and means so much to me in so many ways, I would like to get a deeper look on how the showgirls are as a team and how they interact with each other. The Showgirls do so many performances for the school. Questions I want to ask them are what is like during practices or competitions and how are the relationships between you and your fellow dancers? I would like to also investigate during any practices or meetings they might have just to get the full picture of how they prepare for a performance and how it is like to travel to so many places. I hope this is a good in depth topic and I will learn so much from getting to know the showgirls more with their dedication and drive to dance in front of so many people in football stands and in basketball courts.

February 25 Prompt

In my research paper, the themes that kept reoccuring in were the statistics and stories that I have found that showed why cyberbulling made people lives change and also change for the people who are around them. For me, I thought that the themes I mentioned in my story was all over the place and I did not flow enough in my story as I thought I did. When I revise my essay, I think I should focus more developing more sense of my story that those who read will understand why I chose the topic and why it is so important that cyberbullying is stopped.
The themes I have mentioned the story are fit with my topic they just need to flow more so that the paper makes more sense to the reader and also to me. I do need to make more connections with the information about cyberbullying to the stories that I have researched as well. The way the paper is worded I started off with information then worked my up to experiences that happened to other people and then finally how it has affected me. I believe I have good concepts, I just need to develop more information for the experiences I give that they will be more clear. I did not see any repitition in the paper but just a lot of confusing sentences and paragraphs that need to be reworded.
To make my paper a better one, I need to break down my sections more clearly and give more ideas, information and life to the paper so that it is more interesting for readers to read.

Prompt for February 15 Cont'd....

Advice I would give to my classmates about seaching through this process is to have your keywords already in your mind ready to type so you will know which ones work and which ones do not give you results. Also, I would say pick a topic that you know will give you the results you want for your paper. For me, I think the way I typed in the key words made me not find the results I wanted. If I don't find the right sources then I might need to change my topic as well.
This whole process was easy but hard at the same time. I had to really think out which articles would help my paper be a great explanation of what point I want to get across. I definitely recommend this searching process for future projects because it was very useful doing the search from the comforts of my dorm room than walking in the cold wind to the library that is all the way across the street.

Searching for the sources for my iPaper, was a really thorough and interesting process. I had to change the way worded my searches in the on the TCU Library resources three different times. After I got the right wording, I found more articles that I believe will be beneficial to my paper.

Prompt for February 13

For my iPaper, I will be researching to dangers of online bullying, sexual solicitation, and harrassment, and how it can effect the people involved. Many fights and sexual harrassment cases that are happening now in schools and other places have started mostly with what was said on someone's MySpace or Facebook. When I watch the news sometimes, I cannot get away from the daily topics of people involved in fights, put in the hospital or jail, or even killed becasue of something that happened on the online profiles. Words are worth a thousand words and I going to find out more about this issue and also how it has effected me in school as well.
The question I will be asking is "How what is said on online profiles can effect the lives of people and those who are involved and what can be done to stop it?". You always hear about the stories about teachers or students or other individuals who have been effected badly by this sweeping addiction of profiles and blogs but you never really hear about how it could have been prevented.
When I write this paper, I would to learn about online profiles, and how we can prevent online bullying and assults once and for all. Also, I want to research more cases that involve this issue and how it effected its victims.
This topic matters so much to me because it has effected many people I know and I am so glad that bounced back from the problems that they were faced with because it could have led to something even worse. Me writing this paper is chance to show that online bullying is a real issue and it needs to be stopped because it could happen at any time, in any place to anyone.
